Overview

I designed and developed the digital experience for Peregrine Plitvice Lakes, a five-star private villa located near Rastoke and Plitvice Lakes in Croatia.

The goal was to create a website that feels as refined and peaceful as the property itself — combining premium visual presentation with a clear path toward booking.

Rather than building a traditional accommodation website filled with dense information and generic booking elements, I focused on creating an immersive experience where photography, typography, spacing and subtle interaction work together to communicate privacy, comfort and exclusivity.

The Challenge

Luxury accommodation websites need to do more than simply present rooms and amenities.

The website needed to immediately communicate the atmosphere of Peregrine while still giving potential guests everything they need to make a booking decision.

This meant balancing several priorities:

  • Presenting the villa as a premium five-star destination

  • Making the surrounding nature an important part of the visual identity

  • Keeping booking and availability easily accessible

  • Presenting a large amount of information without making the page feel crowded

  • Supporting both Croatian and international visitors

  • Maintaining a consistent premium experience across desktop and mobile devices

The Solution

I built the website around a highly visual, editorial-style layout that places the property and its surroundings at the center of the experience.

The hero section immediately introduces the core positioning of the villa — luxury meeting nature — while an integrated availability interface allows visitors to select arrival dates, departure dates and the number of guests without disrupting the visual experience.

The rest of the website follows a structured narrative: first introducing the property, then its amenities and wellness experience, followed by accommodation details, pricing, guest reviews, gallery content and nearby attractions.

The result is a website that works both as a premium digital presentation and as a practical conversion-focused booking experience.

  • Mobile-first responsive experience

  • Clear booking calls-to-action throughout the website

Experience & Visual Direction

A major part of the project was creating a visual language that reflects the character of Peregrine itself.

Large-format photography is paired with oversized editorial typography, muted natural tones and generous spacing to create a calm and sophisticated interface.

Instead of treating imagery as supporting content, the design uses the surrounding landscape, architecture and wellness areas as integral parts of the browsing experience.

The interface remains deliberately minimal so that the villa and its environment stay visually dominant.

Booking Experience

The booking journey was designed to remain accessible throughout the website without turning the experience into a conventional reservation portal.

Guests can quickly define their preferred dates and party size, review the available accommodation information and continue toward a reservation request.

Pricing is presented according to the number of guests, while important information such as capacity, amenities, reviews and booking conditions is positioned close to the decision-making points.

This creates a smoother transition from inspiration to reservation.

Content Architecture

Because the property offers much more than accommodation alone, the website was structured to answer the most important questions a potential guest may have before booking.

The experience includes dedicated sections for:

  • Villa specifications and capacity

  • Private pool, sauna and jacuzzi

  • Kitchen and dining facilities

  • Comfort and technology

  • Family-friendly amenities

  • Pricing

  • Verified guest reviews

  • Gallery content

  • Location and nearby attractions

  • Frequently asked questions

  • House rules

The information architecture allows visitors to explore the property in depth while keeping the experience visually clean and easy to navigate.

Result

The finished website gives Peregrine Plitvice Lakes a digital presence that matches the quality and positioning of the property.

It combines premium hospitality design, destination storytelling and a conversion-focused booking journey into a single experience — presenting the villa not simply as accommodation, but as a private luxury retreat surrounded by one of Croatia's most recognizable natural regions.
